Report: Hybrid Autos Cheaper to Own in The Long Run

While hybrids may not totally gain back all of the fuel savings that you would pay up front, they DO have a lower Total Cost of Ownership over a 5 year, 70,000 mile span when compared to gasoline cars. Factors that allowed hybrids to come out on top: better than expected resale value & depreciation, lower repair/maintenance costs, & low gas cost.
